Canadian Film Centre (CFC)
The CFC is Canada’s pre-eminent training institution for professionals in film, television and new media with headquarters in Toronto. It provides advanced training programs and workshops. It is also home to the Worldwide Short Film Festival, the premier venue for exhibition and promotion of short films in North America.
Canadian Filmmaker
This is a guide for people who are new to the business of filmmaking. Developed by WIFT-T and DGC-Ontario, and funded by the Ontario Trillium Foundation and others, the site provides comprehensive and authoritative information about how to develop, produce, market and distribute a film or television programs, as well as information about international sales. It has links to important resources and production funding programs.

Based in Ottawa, the Canadian Screen Training Centre offers workshops designed to develop the skills needed to succeed in the independent screen industry, both to experienced professionals and those just starting out.

The Centre for the Arts is a not-for-profit community arts centre that addresses the need for artists to have a place where their voices can be heard and their works produced. The Centre promotes and presents work in theatre, film and video, music, dance and the visual arts, and provides training and other services to the community.
Cultural Careers Council Ontario (CCCO)
CCCO addresses human resources and career development needs and issues for Ontario's arts and culture community. CCCO develops, facilitates and promotes human resources and career development programs, publications, services and partnerships. CCCO has a job board of work and volunteer opportunities in the cultural sector.
Cultural Human Resources Council (CHRC)
CHRC is a sector council bringing together representatives of arts disciplines and cultural industries to address the training and career development needs of cultural workers – artists, creators, technical staff, managers and all others engaged professionally in the sector, including the self-employed. The site provides information and publications of interest to professional artists. On the CultureWorks part of its site, CHRC has information about jobs and provides advice about how artists can prepare resumes and other marketing material.
Hot Docs
Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival is North America's largest documentary festival. Each year, the festival presents a selection of more than 100 cutting-edge documentaries from Canada and elsewhere. The Festival also provides a full range of professional development, market and networking opportunities for documentary professionals.
National Aboriginal Arts Animator Program
The National Aboriginal Arts Animator Program is a three-year training program for students from a cross-section of Canadian Indigenous cultures. The focus is on storytelling, defined broadly. While the core of the program revolves around performing arts practice, related interests may include new media, film/video, music, dance, spectacle, writing, photography, visual arts/design, and others.
National Screen Institute (NSI)
From its base in Winnipeg, NSI supplies innovative and focused professional training, leading to careers as writers, directors and producers in Canada’s film and television industry.

Praxis Centre for Screenwriters
Associated with Simon Fraser University, the Praxis Centre offers various programs of interest to Ontario scriptwriters, including courses, workshops and script analysis. Through the Praxis Screenplay Competition feature film and Movie of the Work screenplays by Canadian writers are selected for an intensive workshop process.
Toronto Association of Acting Studios (TAAS)
TAAS is an association of independent studios offering a wide variety of high-quality approaches to the craft of acting and related theatrical skills.
Women in Film and Television - Toronto (WIFT-T)
WIFT-T provides year-round training programs, industry events and professional awards for women and men in Canadian screen-based media.
